Diary 2021

Well we started the new year in much the same way as we left the old year.

Zoom meetings, which took place every Tuesday afternoon attracted not just some of our own members but visitors from Scotland down to Sussex and from east to west.  It was a friendly group and I found it very enjoyable.

We had the usual spots and these were proving popular with our visitors too.

We were seventeen years old on Thursday March 4th 2021 and we had a virtual Anniversary ( we brought our own fizz and nibbles) and a virtual AGM with a few songs to share at the end.  We sent donations to three Charities supported by our members, £300 to Nightstop, Kidderminster, £300 to Spokes, Kidderminster and £300 to the Samaritans, Worcester.  Only the Samaritans acknowledged the donation but all the money was banked.  Mark raised £94 on a raffle and we gave that to Liz to restock the Dementia Cafe in Stourport.

We restarted SUSA in August and although we only had a few to start with, membership has increased to around 30/35 each week.  We have begun our usual spot nights on the first Thursday of the month and we even were able to have a Christmas party.  We also welcomed some new members.  As you can see we have not been as active as usual.  During a year we will do 30+gigs but some of our usual ones were stopped by covid.

Saturday July 10th - Chelmarsh Village Fete but then it was cancelled!!

Saturday June 19th saw a group of us at St. George's Farm, courtesy of Sally for a practice ready for Kateshill.  A sense of normality.

Sunday June 27th -  Kateshill in Bewdley which was very enjoyable.

Sunday August 15th at the Far Forest Countryside Show.

Sunday 29th August for Staffie Dog Show

Tuesday 21st September for Stourport Dementia Cafe

Wednesday 21st October for the Wharf Care Home, Stourport

Thursday 9th December at Holy Trinity, Kidderminster for Parkinson Support Group

Wednesday 15th December at St Cecilia's, Kidderminster for "Hand of Friendship" group

As with all societies it was a difficult time but we are looking forward to 2022 with parties and theme nights.
